Apfel Mod Hosting

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-28

1. What this is

Apfel Mod Hosting ("the Service") is a semi-private platform (registration may be open, approval-gated, or closed) for sharing Minecraft mods and modpacks, operated by apfelmagnet32, a private individual based in Germany, on a non-commercial basis. It is not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or any other mod-hosting platform.

2. Accounts

  • Depending on the current registration setting, new accounts are active right away, need admin approval first, or can't be created at all.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything that happens under your account.
  • Agreeing to these terms is entering into an agreement, so you need the legal capacity to do that: in Germany that means you're 18, or younger with your parent or guardian's agreement (§§ 106 ff. BGB). This is separate from the age for consenting to data processing, which is 16 — see the Privacy Policy.
  • Don't share, sell, or let someone else use your account.

3. Content Rules

You keep ownership of whatever you upload (mods, descriptions, images, etc.). By uploading, you give the Service a license to host, store, and make it available to other users of the platform, for as long as your project stays on it.

Prohibited content

  • Nothing illegal under German law or under the law that applies to you.
  • No malware, no code that secretly exfiltrates data, and no attempts to compromise a player's or server's security.
  • No defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent material.
  • No harassment, doxxing, or content aimed at intimidating or distressing a specific person.
  • No impersonation of another person, project, or organization, and no false claim of endorsement by anyone (including this Service).
  • Don't upload anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.

Honest descriptions

  • A project's summary and description must accurately explain what it does — don't bury or misrepresent what a user is actually installing.
  • Don't use the name or summary fields for anything other than the project's actual name and a short, plain description.
  • If your project contains AI-generated content, third-party assets, or is monetized, disclose that honestly in the project's Disclosures section. Undisclosed violations may lead to removal.

Cheats and unfair advantages

  • Don't upload client-side modifications built to give players an unfair advantage in multiplayer without any server-side way to detect or opt out of it (e.g. undetectable X-ray, aimbots, or flight/speed hacks).
  • Don't upload anything built specifically to bypass a server's or another mod's anti-cheat or security measures.

Copyright and reuploads

  • Only upload content you own or are licensed to distribute.
  • Don't reupload someone else's project without their explicit permission — a genuine fork with substantial changes of your own is fine, but credit the original where it applies.

Project quality

  • Links, gallery images, and licenses attached to a project must actually belong to it and stay accurate.
  • List every version/loader a file actually needs as a dependency so other users know what else to install.
  • Substantially different projects belong in separate listings, not as "versions" of something unrelated.

4. Moderation

Accounts

  • Depending on the current registration setting, new accounts are either active right away (open), need approval from an admin before they can sign in (approval required), or can't be created at all (closed).

Projects

  • A new project starts as a draft that only you and staff can see. It becomes visible to others only after you submit it for review and a moderator or admin approves it.
  • A project can be rejected, or an approved project can be sent back for another review later. The reason and any feedback are posted in the project's Moderation tab, and you're notified.
  • Once a project is approved, new versions you upload are published straight away without a separate review — they still have to follow these terms.

Reports

  • Any signed-in user can report a project they believe breaks these terms. Reports go to the moderation team, who decide whether to act on them.

Enforcement

  • Moderators and admins can remove projects, remove messages, and temporarily suspend or permanently terminate accounts that break these terms — including after content was already approved.
  • While your account is suspended or terminated, you can still change the visibility of or delete your own projects, change your password, or delete your account. The reason is shown to you when you sign in.
  • Staff can keep private notes on projects for moderation purposes; these aren't visible to the project's owner.

5. No warranty, use at your own risk

The Service is provided "as is," run as a personal project, free of charge. There is no guarantee of uptime, availability, data durability, or that it will be maintained indefinitely. Back up anything you can't afford to lose.

To the extent the law allows, the operator isn't liable for damages arising from your use of the Service. That limit has hard exceptions which German law does not permit anyone to exclude, and which therefore apply regardless of anything else on this page: the operator remains fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for damages under the Produkthaftungsgesetz, and for any guarantee expressly given. For ordinary negligence, the operator is liable only where an obligation essential to the purpose of this agreement is breached, and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of such an agreement.

6. Termination

The operator may suspend or delete any account or project at any time, for any reason, particularly for violating these terms. You can ask for your account and data to be deleted at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Changes

These terms may change as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "last updated" date.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by German law. If you use the Service as a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, this choice doesn't take away the protections your own country's law gives you that can't be contracted away (Art. 6 Rome I Regulation).
